We live in a century and an opportune era that history has recommended, where the role of an individual is important in the formation of an open society, to take on the enemy.
I have been deeply moved by the social-political prophecy advocated by the modern political pragmatist Karl Popper, a noted philosopher in the Vienna circle. Likewise, each individual role will recur soon and unfold before our eyes in Burma as a whole and Kachinland in particular. Simply because neither the strongest can shape the total and ultimate goal of one's neither nation nor the weakest group can proudly murmur their limitations.
Today each individual, whoever and whatever he/she is needs to have a measure of the concept of their role for which they are responsible for both one’s individuality and nation building, which is both ethically and theologically sound as the creature of God and the citizen of the common world.
Each Individual is responsible for forming his own government in his own land
Once Plato said that "He who refuses to rule is liable to be ruled by the one who is worse than himself," in How Can a Christian Be in Politics? By Roy Herron. Here my position is that we the Kachin are the ones who can be the right ones to rule our land being mercilessly exploited and its people tortured by the regime.
As seen in Plato's political ideology when one is not capable enough to come up in a formation to rule then it is clear that those people who are not fit to be your rulers will definitely snatch the opportunity.
The point here is that every Kachin is divinely responsible in the establishment of his own government that will be the best government... Let not the stranger or the evil, ever rule in our Kachinland as they are doing.
The Kachin principle of nation- building is Christian patriotism
By the time we the Kachins accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour and the mediator between our forefathers' God and the Kachins, as seen in our migration and anthropology, nothing can be our ultimate authority in our social-economical-political lives in terms of making decisions and what so ever else except Christian faith.
The fact is that the Christian concept of truth and freedom and principle is our ultimate norm and is our autonomy in our daily social-affairs. We cannot tolerate the pseudo politics/ promise which is not of the standard which we hold. This is our fundamental stand where our forefathers stood so today we proclaim and tomorrow we will be testifying in this land and beyond.
For this reason, we the Kachins have been fighting for our freedom from the evil system that is the cruel and crooked military rule since 1961. We the Kachins are more convinced now that our principle of building our nation is based on Christian patriotism, whatever we do and wherever we are.
We are today being totally eliminated which is intolerable as human beings in every realm of Kachin'' life since the Newin regime took control of the central government in Burma. The main policy of the junta towards ethnicity is terrible and can be compared to the treatment of jews by Nazis.
Therefore in this Christian era there may be ideals and patriotism; an old way, an animistic way, the communist path, the Buddhist way… to be abided by. Our ideal paradigm that we the Kachins should embrace is non-other than The Christian Norm of Patriotism where the truth, the love, the vision, the justice, the forgiveness, and the understanding are fundamentally constituted rather than in materialization of emotional feelings of patriotism in the building of one's nation.
In fact this is the policy for eradicating the evil exploitation, politics, practices, dominion, plans being handed out by this regime. This is our standard axiom to be held and activated as we the Kachins are also Christians.
Each individual Kachin has to be the problem solver in this socio-economic-political turmoil with a secure and perfect spirit
We are in our land or in Burma not because of others but because of God, the creator and the capacity within ourselves in keeping with the history of the world and the history of Burma. It means that here is nothing to be afraid of any power or nation which threatens us.
During Nazism at its peak every lowly individual who was from the Church of Confession founded by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, stood up and got involved in the movement against Nazism. Though they played a lowly role in the fight against Nazis, they reaped the fruits of a wonderful victory. Today it is a time for challenges for the Kachins as to whether we will stand up for the truth or will live with evil for the rest of our lives.
Unfortunately when we mistakenly or conditionally agree to whatever the junta enforces on us creating a crisis in terms of political power, social unity and military power, and the world trend of political knowledge of each individual, or rather yielding everything to the junta, seems to be equal to the Kachins rejecting each land, history, nation, culture, prestige, future. It ultimately means Kachins would be foolish and unwise, who would dare to deny their Lord Jesus Christ since the Kachins are mostly Christians. Let no Kachin deny their-own land, nation, history …and ultimately our Lord Jesus for whom alone we are here and are what we are today.
Rather let us live up to the principle of "the one and the many," by Thales, a noted pre-Socrates Greek philosopher and the most powerful word against Nazism by Bonhoeffer, "The Man for the others." Even we the Kachins are here today to serve the world and to continue with the Christian Norm of Truth towards nations including Burma with our instinct secure and perfect mind (Real Kachin Great Mind) plus the Christian mind, the mind that wins over the evil world. Let us faithfuls be faithful towards both ourselves and the country which has been ‘intoxicated’ by evil-military rule.
Therefore if we really love our nation (Burma), our own nation- Kachinland and our God whom we worship and for whom we are alive today, there is need to solve the problem in the right way in every circumstance without fear but a secure and great mind.
Our main targeted mission as Kachins and Christians is to eliminate the evil one, evil principles and evil work from our land. For this reason every Kachin has his own task to be complied today and it is the way that the common problem will be solved in one's community. So long as one is truthful in what he/she is undertaking there is perfect security in himself/herself that no dictator can destroy.
Because when physical security comes from others there is need for self security and self confidence in what we are doing. Yet we believe that there is perfect security in God alone. There is a wonderful message which is that in the Great-Kachin-Christian spirit and principle, there is perfect victory for all.
