May 19, 2011 – The new military tensions are coming up between Burma Army and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Northern Burma-- Kachin State and Northern Shan State at four different areas after Gen Xu Caihou, Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission visited Burma, last week.
The KIA officials said the latest military tensions may lead to civil war. Currently, military tensions are occurred at the KIA’s Brigade 4 in Northern Shan State and three areas in Kachin State--- the KIA’s Battalion 11, 5 and 25, according to the KIA officials.
